Bijni College celebrated its Silver Jubilee Year on November,18, 1994-95 with a four-day long colorful programme. To celebrate the occasion of the college completing its 25th years of existence in a befitting manner A Silver Jubilee Celebration Committee along with a number of a sub-committee to assist and implement various programmes set by the main committee was formed, in which all the stake-holders of the institution - the general public, the guardians, the teachers, the office staffs, the alumni and the current students were involved.
It was a memorable day for the college when the main function of the programme was graced by the presence of the then Governor of Assam, Loknath Misra. The other distinguish guest of honour present during those four days included Kamaleswar Bora, the VC of Dibrugarh University; Dilip Choudhury, DPI, Higher Education, Assam and Subhash Chakraborty, Principal, Bongaigaon College.
A voluminous Souvenir carrying more than a dozen write-ups of various persons retracing their sentimental feelings and nostalgia down memory lane was also released on the occasion. To add to the fanfare colorful cultural programme showcasing the local and ethnic dance and music variety was organized every evening during the period of celebration to regale the distinguished guests and tousands of audiences present. It is mentionable that a cultural programme was formally opened by the renowned actor of Assamese Cinema Mrs. Malaya Goswami.
